It was a sad day that our favorite social event of the week was cancelled last night because of some last minute pop ups. It's always sad when the four of us can't get together but I felt compelled to write today anyway because it's what I do, ha!
So let me fill you in on the amazing girls in this group (there will be more one day).
Allie...
photographer, website expert, iphone lover, friend...she is one of the most genuine people I know and has such an angelic heart. Allie can brighten up a group just by laughing or smiling.
Katie...
teacher, grill master, cookie maker, friend...she has a heart of gold and is definitely the includer of the group. Katie knows what it means to be a true encourager and she consistently makes an effort to put a smile on your face!
Megan...
business minded, giggle box, Pilate expert, friend...she brings this feeling of comfort as soon as she walks in the room! Megan adds a sassy flair that can turn any frown upside down!
Then there's me but, I won't go into detail about myself...well...becasue that would be awkward!
Anyway we would love for you...yes, YOU, in the pink...to come and join us on Mondays! I promise it'll be fun and if not, at least you got to try some good food!

Rewarded with patience!
I want to start this blog off by giving you two quotes written about the restuarant we visited on Monday...
"The cross-cultural tacos, spicy turnip greens, and blue plate specials created by Eddie Hernandez are the stuff of legend. The lines form early and hardly ever relent, but the cheerful minimalist decor doesn't encourage lingering and the tables turn over at top speed." ~Christiane Lauterbach, Atlanta Magazine
"You know the line looks long but moves fast. You know not to grab a table early or break the house rules because the system works. You know the airy, screened-in patio will be a terrific spot to kick back with a margarita and a basket of warm chips with three salsas and chunky guacamole. And you know the fish tacos are as addictive as the Memphis pork barbecue tacos, and that the red sauce over an enchilada will put you in chile heaven."~John Kessler, Atlanta Journal Constitution
Yep...that's right! We went to Taqueria Del Sol and believe me, what those journalists wrote was absolutely true. We had a fabulous dining experience. The fish tacos are definitely a must and the chowder is something you don't want to turn down. The four of us had a great time sipping our margaritas over some good queso and conversation.
Now, I did a little research on our friendly, little place and the reviews aren't always the greatest. People have complained about the long line and not be able to sit before ordering...well my comment to all this is "sometimes a little patience can bring great rewards!"
Pictures will be up soon:)

Dunque buono!
Dunque buono!
Yes, you are correct...the saga continues! Last night we took Monday's Menu to the Buckhead Italian Market and Bakery. This authentic Italian trattoria resides in the middle of Buckhead and provides a charming atmosphere that makes you feel like your right in the heart of Italy. Mama Henriette and her son, Chef Marcello have created such a warm and inviting atmosphere that you feel at home as soon as you arrive. These two are there to immediately greet you with a gracious smile because they are truly happy that you walked through their door! And if your lucky, like we were, you'll receive a sweet hug from mama, just because:)

The Italian Market provides an array of tasty options such as Chicken Milanese, Penne Chicken Mariana and Katie's favorite, Lemon Chicken Lasagna. Katie described it as " so good I don't want it to end" as she scrapped the fork along side the dish, haha. We all basically wanted to lick our plates clean but, being that we were in public, we controlled our urge to do so!

After stuffing our faces until our tummies were way past full, we decided that this dining experience would not be complete without dessert. Who knew that everyone has and extra compartment in their stomaches just fort times like this, haha. Now, If you think the dinner selection is huge wait till you try to decide on something sweet. They offer cannolis, Italian creme cake, baklavah, magic club and so much more. I promise it will be one of the hardest decisions of your life. Now, I'm sure most of you are wondering what a magic club (or cube for Katie and Megan) is and I honestly wish I could explain it to you. All I can say is it's a little taste of Heaven in you mouth...you must try one!
The five of us, with our newest addition Shannon, had such a wonderful time filled with amazing food, lots of giggles and delightful conversation. I mean who knew that talking about Jason Mraz and Michael W. Smith would bring so much joy to one group of ladies, haha!
This dining experience was a success and we all hope to return soon! Mama wouldn't have it any other way:)
Andare esso mangia al Buckhead l'oggi di Mercato e Panetteria italiano!

Two Thumbs and a pinkie up...

I consistently think about food, not in a completely gluttonous way but, I do thoroughly enjoy new tastes on my tongue. Therefore, being able to experience new foods each week along with great fellowship is something that gets me all excited inside. Think about all the times that you've wanted to go out and try new things but you never had anyone to go with you, well all that has changed! Welcome to our Monday rendezvous!
Last night was absolutely scrumptious(I love using fun words). If you have never been to SPOON, I'm going to suggest you stop what your doing and get your booty down to Marietta street for some incredible Thai food! I'm not kidding! Put down the coffee and step away from the computer....OK I am kidding but, you should definitely go tonight!
The decor gives you that big city feel with the dim lights and exposed ceilings. We classified it as a good "first date" spot so, you single ladies out there keep it on your radar.
If you want some suggestions for goodness I recommend the Chicken Satay and Pad Med MaMuang, two favorites of the night! Of course if you've never had Thai food before and you want to start out safe, Pad Thai is always an excellent choice! Oh, and you must try the Thai Iced Tea! I give it two thumbs and a pinkie up.

Keep checking back for more fun and food.
